Events

From its inception, MEDIA has focused on empowering marginalised communities through informal education and vocational training. Starting with the MEDIA School for Women in Bihar’s Katihar district, the organisation has hosted numerous training camps on video making, photography, and computer skills for children from disadvantaged communities, helping them discover new employment opportunities.

Campaign Design

Creating Awareness to Drive Change

Since its beginning, MEDIA has run various awareness campaigns, including one with Gramodaya Sansthan in Kanpur, Banda, and Chitrakoot, focused on freeing child labourers. In 1995, MEDIA partnered with Sulabh International to launch campaigns aimed at integrating manual scavengers, considered “untouchables,” into mainstream society. This collaboration also brought much-needed attention to the lives of Vrindavan’s widows through documentaries and awareness initiatives, significantly transforming their lives.

MEDIA also conceptualised the Mission Sanitation Project which was showcased at the United Nations in New York City, USA.

Seminars, Workshops, and Conclaves

The Power of Dialogue

Understanding the importance of dialogue, MEDIA has organised conclaves, seminars, workshops, poetry sessions, and music festivals in cities like Kanpur, Patna, Forbesganj, and Delhi over the past three decades. These events have fostered public participation and raised awareness on critical social issues. MEDIA remains committed to hosting similar programs in the future to continue sparking dialogue and social consciousness.
